  • Tetsuro Tamba (丹波哲郎 Tanba Tetsurou) (July 17, 1922 - September 25, 2006) was a Japanese actor. A veteran of more than 300 films and TV dramas in Japan, he is perhaps best known to western audiences for playing Tiger Tanaka in the 1967 James Bond film, You Only Live Twice. Tamba was born in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan on July 17, 1922. He died of heart failure related to pneumonia on September 25, 2006 in Tokyo at the age of 84. He was survived by his son Yoshitaka Tamba who is also an actor.
