  • Fight To The Pain is a term used in the movie "[[The Princess Bride"]]. The character Westley encounters Prince Humperdinck in the honeymoon suite of the castle and when Humperdinck suggests that they fight to the death, Westley insists that they should instead fight to the pain. When fighting to the pain, you first lose your feet below the ankles, then your hands at the wrists. Your nose is lost next. Humperdinck suggests that you then lose your tongue, but this is neither confirmed nor denied. Your left eye is then removed, followed by your right. You keep your ears, so that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish. Every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out, "Dear God! What is that thing," will echo in your perfect ears. That is what to the pain means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever.
