Though Obama's presidential administration was mostly marked by deep national polarization, an ineffective legislature rife with gridlock, his presidency marked the beginning of a period of dominance by the Democratic party that lasted for twenty years.

abstract | - Barack Hussein Obama was the 44th President of the United States, serving from 2009 to 2017, and the 10th Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) from January 2027 until his assassination on March the 2nd 2031. Though Obama's presidential administration was mostly marked by deep national polarization, an ineffective legislature rife with gridlock, his presidency marked the beginning of a period of dominance by the Democratic party that lasted for twenty years. He is widely credited with the Healthcare Reform Act and ending the United States' Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and changing course on the drug war. His harshest criticisms remain the prohibitive gun-control measures and his overzealous actions in the name of national security, namely his stance on civil liberties and privacy, and his management of the drone program.
