  • Islamic countries had used the Red Crescent since the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-8. In 1929 the organisation expanded to include these countries and that emblem was also recognised. Iran began a similar organisation in 1922 using the Red Lion and Sun symbol. While officially recognised, it fell into disuse after the overthrow of the Shah in 1980 and the Red Crescent was adopted. Israel has used the Red Star of David since 1935 but due to Arab opposition this symbol has not been officially recognised. Instead, the organisation has adopted the Red Crystal in 2005 as a non-religious symbol which Israel has used in overseas humanitarian missions.
  • Dr. Peter Hall was an army captain and a doctor. He fought the Axis powers in occupied France and later in the Pacific as the heroic Red Cross. He had no powers, but used firearms and his fists. His costume was usually red and blue with a "Rx" symbol on his chest. No one knew he was the Red Cross, not even his close friend Lucy Feller; an army nurse.
  • Although the group uses the symbol of Our Lord as its logo, that symbol is really nothing more than the flag of the pacifist cut-and-runner country of Switzerland where the organization is based. To demonstrate just how far the Red Cross is from the kind of faithiness approved by Greatest President Ever, consider this: When it works in Muslim countries, Red Cross drops the Cross completely and calls itself Red Crescent. The US Red Cross even gave Bill Clinton massive publicity after the Hurricane Katrina and the Indonesian Tsunami. It allowed him to act like he was a "good-will" ambassador.
