It was here that he met Niki Lauda who, at that time, was running Jaguar Racing in F1 and he got a job as performance engineer to Eddie Irvine in 2002. Williams were looking for a performance engineer on Juan Pablo Montoya’s car in 2003 and Pujolar got the job. The Spaniard wanted to be a race engineer and in 2004 he worked at races and tests in order to learn as much as possible. Midway through that year he was promoted to race engineer. He remained as a race engineer for Williams, until taking a year out with Hispania F1, where he was senior race engineer. He rejoined Williams in 2011 to be race engineer to Pastor Maldonado, a partnership which continued into 2012 where Maldonado claimed victory at the Spanish Grand Prix. Pujolar was named chief race engineer in 2013.
