  • A player's Combat Rating is a measure of how effective an agent is in combat, using a (up to) 1 to 5 star rating. Some Achievements require that the Agent has at least a certain star rating to qualify (e.g. 1 match won with a 2 star rating). While there are a number of factors that determine an Agent's star rating, little is currently known about them. It is believed that Combat Rating can only be affected by performance in PvP missions. PvE content has no positive nor negative effect on an Agent's Combat Rating. (However, 2 stars are gained from completing quests.)
  • Combat rating is a crude measure of your fighting skills in EV: Nova. It is based the sum of the strengths of the ships you destroy (multiplied by an internal multiplier for adjustment), with larger ships worth more points. Some mission strings require a certain minimum combat rating. The "Kills" value for any pilot can be found in the pilotlog. Once a combat rating of Deadly is reached, a player's demands for tribute from planets, if made, will be taken seriously, and the planet's defense fleet will be launched. The combat ratings are as follows:
  • Equipped Combat Rating is calculated from the equipment the player currently has equipped, and is the rating displayed next to the health and power bars if it is different from the normal combat rating. It does not appear in the Inventory interface if you are currently wearing your best equipment. Combat Rating can not be decreased by selling or salvaging items. The Equipped Combat Rating can be decreased by removing gear but does not affect the Mark rewards from content.
