Synopsis
  • Researching, Peter comes to believe the new Hydra is replacing the crime-cartel Hydra like the SS eliminated the SA in Nazi Germany. Soon after, Peter attends the "Cats Always Lie" opening, sending MJ flowers. The couple attends the after-party where Peter's spider-sense warns him of Edgar Lascombe. Spidey follows Edgar to his penthouse where a cat gives away his presence to a tailing Hydra agent, who opens fire, but is struck by a careless driver. Edgar thanks Spider-Man for stopping the "assassin." That night, photographer Vincent Chambliss catches MJ entering Avengers Tower. To protect Spidey's identity, she says she's visiting Tony Stark. At home, Lascombe dons his Supreme Hydra costume and enters Hydra's underground base. There, he assures world tyrants that his plan to poison the USA's largest drinking water reservoir is going smoothly. MJ checks out the latest "Daily Tattler", with a headline proclaiming her affair with Tony Stark.
