After issue 12, the stories are self-contained—either lasting one issue, or in smaller story arcs of two or three parts. Topps Comics also published a comic book adaptation of The X-Files Movie, a four-issue adaptation of The X-Files novel Ground Zero and a series of adaptations of The X-Files episodes (nine issues of episodes from season 1 were published when the series was cancelled).
