  • The Unoites were a humanoid species native to the planet Numero Uno. In the 23rd century, war broke out between leader Justin I and rebel Justin II, in which 453,000 civilians were killed (compared to 37,000 Orange Army soldiers and 103,000 Green Army soldiers). When deadly radioactive rings formed around the planet, a truce was called and the Unoites were evacuated to two artificial satellites, which soon became overpopulated. In 2266, the USS Enterprise made first contact with the Unoite leaders, who told them their history (omitting the part about the war) and asked them to help save their people. However, the crew discovered the truth and confronted the Justins, who insisted that there were no weapons left and had no interest in resuming the war. However, after destroying the rings, the Enterprise crew discovered a stockpile of nuclear weapons belonging to the Justins, proving they had been lied to again. The two rulers attacked the crew, but through a trick engineered by Spock and Leonard McCoy, were convinced that the rings could be brought back at any time, and agreed to stop fighting.
