The final push to the debut of this character, however, came from the readers themselves, tired of seeing their favorite in the guise of the eternal defeated, so after announcing on an editorial in the bottom of the 705 Topolino imminent debut of the character, Phantom Duck appeared in his first adventure: Paperinik the Demon Avenger written by Guido Martina and artist Giovan Battista Carpi and published in two successive numbers.
