Despite the project apparently not being picked up by 20th Century Fox, on February 18, 2015 Blomkamp and the studio appeared to officially confirm that he would be directing a fifth Alien film. However, it is unknown at this time whether the film will have any basis in Alien: Xeno, or whether it will be an entirely new piece of work.
