- Saya Otonashi(音無 小夜Otonashi Saya) is a fictional character and the central protagonist of the Blood+ anime and manga series.
- Saya Otonashi is the main protagonist and anti-heroine of the anime series, Blood+. She is the first born of the daughters of the Chiropteran Mummy. She is a pure blooded Chiropteran queen and Diva's older twin sister as well as Hagi's lover. After waking up from a coma, she spends a year as the adopted daughter of George Miyagusuku and adopted sister of Kai and Riku, before recovering her memory and serving under the U.S. military faction Red Shield as their 'secret weapon' to take down Chiropterans.

- Saya Otonashi(音無 小夜Otonashi Saya) in Blood+ is very different from the Saya of Blood: The Last Vampire. She was "born" in 1833 from a cocoon like object taken from a mummy of a Chiropteran along with another cocoon containing her sister Diva. Whenever her and Diva's blood mix, the blood crystallizes and disintegrates. She can only remain awake for a few years (three to four, at most) before sleeping again for three decades. She is a skilled athlete and her weapon of choice is a nihontō (though one slightly changed to have features analogous to those of a kopesh) with an edge she can touch with her thumb while gripping it so as to draw blood, and bohi or grooves specially designed to spread her blood through its entire blade, making it a deadly weapon both against Diva and any Chiropteran made from Diva's blood. Amshel breaks the first blade in the series, but she acquires a new sword from David with a red crystal at the base of its blade. This crystal is actually a piece of her adoptive father, George's body which crystallized when she killed him with her own blood in order to spare him the fate of fully becoming a Chiropteran.

Saya at first seems to be a happy, normal high school girl, who enjoys life and cares for the people around her. This dramatic change in the character is explained as the movie is set a few months before the start of the Vietnam War and Blood is set in present day and Saya has no memory of her life before a few years ago. During the first few episodes Saya learns that she is not like everybody else and that she is the only person alive who can kill the Chiropteran monsters. Horrified and scared by this revelation Saya is initially reluctant to fight and is afraid that uncovering the secrets of her past will bring her more pain and misery. Both Hagi and David know the truth about her but they both decide it is best for Saya to uncover the truth herself. As the series progresses she learns more about herself and accepts her mission to destroy the Chiropteran and towards the very end of the series she is more like she was in The Last Vampire, cold and non-talkative, choosing only to focus on her mission. She is a skilled athlete and fighter and her katana is specially made with an edge she can touch that draws blood from her hand and distributes it across the length of the blade. We eventually learn that it is Saya's blood that gives her the power to kill the Chiropterans.
