As a result the faction that Taro's parents were in was completely annihilated, and his parents lives were taken right before his eyes. Wishing for revenge for his parents and making their dreams for the village's future his own. Taro entered the village academy and eventually became a chūnin. Secretly he became a spy for the organization and learned as much information as he could about the Akatsuki, Itachi Uchiha however became aware of Taro's motives but rather than kill him took him in as his personal spy and apprentice until his death. Soon however the word of Pain's defeat reached Amegakure and Taro felt it was all for nothing, but in actuality the organization remained under the leadership of Obito. Taro's revenge wasn't over and it was during his time as a spy for the organization that he met Sasuke Uchiha. Sasuke saw the true intent for revenge and hate within Taro's eyes reminding Sasuke of himself, and ultimately took Taro in as his apprentice in secret. Due to certain circumstances such as the 4th War, their training was put on hold til after the war. After the war Sasuke found Taro again and continued to train him during his time away from the village. When they parted ways Taro returned to Amegakure stronger than ever and soon became a captain within Ame's ANBU. Taro made it his mission to end the strife that took over Ame after the village was left without a leader, however a man named Kanzō (Actually Danzō Shimura) took control over the village with force and plunged the village into a strict fascist regime under the name Akatsuki. Taro was not going to sit back and let this happen and became known as the Black Phantom of Amegakure, a vigilante who disrupts the plans the organization by assassinating its financial and trade contacts and killing their members.
