  • Paper Mario (known as Mario Story in Japan) was adapted into an anime and released on vide o as an OVA on November 22, 2000 in Japan. Despite being called an OVA, it was actually broadcast on Tokyo MX TV prior to its video release. The video became one of the top-selling video releases in Japan during the holiday season of its release, selling more than 6 billion units by January of 2001. The cartoon runs more than 100 minutes in length (each chapter being around 10-11 minutes in length). Despite being dubbed into English, the video was never released in the USA in any form until June 2010, when a bilingual DVD surfaced on Netflix and Amazon.com.
