AkaRenger is the first character in the Kingdom Hearts series who does not comes from Disney or Square Enix-based media. Originally, Nomura wanted Sora to face AkaRenger, while Riku was to faced Kamen Rider 1, the first Kamen Rider from the Kamen Rider series, but was unable to get the rights to used him, so only AkaRenger made it into the final game.
