For instance, some considered items that have not returned in many years, such as since or to be "rare", while others consider items available to a limited group of players, such as the Penguin Of The Week Background to be "rare" as well. Pins and anniversary hats were widely considered "rare", as, with few exceptions for the former, were never rereleased after their initial availability.

  • The cards of Clint City are divided into different rarities. This gives a rough classification to how easy it is to obtain a character as well as how much it costs in terms of Clintz. There are Four rarities. * Common cards are easiest to obtain in a pack and four or five of them appear in a full deck at the shop. Their names are normally in a Bronze background. * Uncommon cards are in the middle, and two or three of them appear in each full deck. Their names are normally in a Silver background. * Rares tend to be the hardest cards to get, with only one appearing in each full deck purchased. Their names are normally in a Gold background. * Legendary are cards that can only be obtained by completing the missions that require you to get them. Their names are highlighted in a Purple background. In addition to the three rarities, there are also collector cards which do not appear in packs at all. These cards are the hardest cards to obtain in the game, as they must be bought by Clintz.
  • In Summoner Master, there are five types of Rarity. A Common card is the easiest card to find. A Common card is identified by having a white Version's symbol. An example of a Common card is Helio Griffin. An Uncommon card is harder to find than a Common card. An Uncommon card is identified by having a green Version's symbol. In Dividing of 4 Kingdoms Version, An Uncommon card is identified by having a grey Version's symbol. An example of Uncommon cards are Vioria, the Frigid Witch, and Marina, the Mermaid. A Rare card is the hardest card to find. A Rare card is identified by having a yellow Version's symbol. An example of a Rare card is Andre, the King of Annedisonge. There is also a Secret Rare card, a Rare card which is extremely hard to find, in some Versions. They appears only one card per Version except Hymn of Exodus III (There are six Secret Rare cards in Hymn of Exodus III Version). An example of a Secret Rare card is Zechariah Marvin, the Magus. This type appears in Special Versions such as Exigency, Dragonology, and Starter. In these Versions, all cards in the Versions are Special cards. An example of a Special card is Angel of Harvest. A Promo card can be found as a part of Wiser Magazine, a reward of a Tournament, or a card from an official trading campaign. This type appears in promotional Versions such as Treasure, and Celebration. An example of a Promo card is Mistral Garuda.
  • If they have a black diamond they are a Common. White Dimond they are Uncommon. Silver they are Rare. Gold they are Ultra And if they don't have anything on them except a background they are Phantom rare. ALSO if they are GOLD but have the word PROMO underneath, then they are PROMO.
  • Spike's crush on Rarity was not planned out from the beginning. When Lauren Faust was writing Rarity's introduction scene in the pilot, she wanted the audience to understand that she's very beautiful even though she is visually very similar to the other ponies, except the style of her mane and her eyes and eyelashes. To let the audience understand that she is beautiful, Faust made Spike become smitten with her, which developed into his crush on Rarity. Rarity's eye design is less frequently used than most other designs: Lotus Blossom and Aloe share the same eye design as Rarity, including color, shape and design of upper and lower eyelashes. During running sequences, Lemon Hearts has the same eye shape as Rarity as well. In The Best Night Ever, Rarity puts fake eyelashes on before going to the Grand Galloping Gala. She is seen wearing fake eyelashes again in MMMystery on the Friendship Express while being interrogated by Twilight Sparkle. Rarity's dressmaking shop, the Carousel Boutique, is designed after a toy of the My Little Pony line sold by Hasbro. In Lauren Faust's "pitch bible" for the show, the boutique was named the Carousel Couture, and it specialized in carousel-inspired designs. Rarity was originally the "Element of Inspiration", but this was considered "too tough for kids to wrap their heads around." Faust stated that Audrey Hepburn was her biggest influence on Rarity.

Some special items like Dragon Hand don't have a rarity, so they are considered to have a rarity of 999. Chemical Combiners also work to increase the Rarity, combining 10 Chemical G (Rarity: 1), 5 Chemical B (Rarity: 25), and 5 Chemical Y (Rarity: 15), you get a Steel Table (Rarity: 1 + 25 + 15 = 41), {Note that the rarity does not stack}. Recipes involving the Transmog Crystal have rarities based on the rarity of the base material. For example, a Blue Sun Shirt is made by combining a Happy Sun Shirt (Rarity: 42), a Transmog Crystal (Rarity: 87) and 20 Blue Block (Rarity: 15). Because the rarity of the base material is 42, the rarity of the product is 42 as well. Few other select recipes have "defiant" rarities. Rarity directly controls: - Gem drop rate (from blocks, as well trees); roughly one gem every additional 4 rarity. - Tree growing time Rarity has no effect on block drop rates from trees, or seed drop rates from blocks. Note: not to be confused with recipe tiers.
