  • The current executive deputy secretary of the state Department of Education, Thomas Gluck, has been nominated to fill the secretary's position to be vacated by Gerald Zahorchak. Gov. Ed Rendell this morning made the nomination. Dr. Zahorchak, 52, last week announced that he will leave the department on May 7, 2010 because he will become superintendent of the Allentown School District on July 1, 2010.
