| abstract | - Connor Spivak is the chief political strategist working for Armando Zeyas. In 1993 when Zeyas offered a reward for information regarding the shooting of Orlando Merced, Spivak received a call from Alicia Navarro indicating the Charles Broussard and another man were involved in the shooting. Instead of forwarding the information to the police he conspired with Zeyas to extort money from Broussard. Thus, Broussard became one of the biggest financial backers of Zeyas. In 2014 when Zeyas was preparing to run for governor, Navarro called the police once more. Detectives Harry Bosch and Lucia Soto followed up with her, leading to Spivak's arrest. In an effort to avoid prison, Spivak offered to wear a recording device while discussing the matter with Zeyas.
