Dovewing slid in next to her. {C}{C} 13 Wintermask got up and tried to forget what had become of her brother and her friend. She could not get the image of them together out of her mind. Then screaming from the nursery roused her completely. Cinderheart was the first to reach the den. "What's going on?" she yowled. "I think I'm having KITS!" Sunnystep gasped, eyes glazed with pain. It was pandemonium in the nursery. "If you just relax--" "I CAN'T RELAX!" "Okay, okay." Jayfeather had reached the den. "Just try to relax." Sure enough, minutes later, a huge dark brown kit slid out and hit the moss with a squeal. Winterkit gasped as she recognized the torn ear. Next came another tom with blue eyes like ice. A she cat with jade-green eyes and jet-black pelt came out next. "That's done," Jayfeather said. "Good job, Sunnystep." "I want to name them," the she-cat replied. "The biggest one will be Tigerkit becaue he's so big. The next one can be Frostkit because of his eyes and the third is Hollykit." Hollykit's eyes seem to bore right into Wintermask's soul, reaching in, touching her deepest secrets. Inside her head, she heard a smooth, silky voice purr, "You have done well my little warrior." As Hollykit yawned an curled up, she flashed her teeth at Wintermask. And Wintermask realized that she had brought three cats back from the dead.
