Ricky is in the extremely unusual position of having been capped by two different national teams. He made his international debut for Trinidad & Tobago in 2006 in a friendly match against Iceland while a player at Swindon Town, but was never selected again. Five years later he linked up with the Guyana national team to take part in their qualifying campaign for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
