He was mostly a backup goaltender throughout his NHL career. Despite that. he did play in 174 NHL games with a record of 53-65-17. After retiring in 1999 Reese worked as a goalie coach with the Lightning organization. On June 25, 2009, he was hired by the Philadelphia Flyers as their goalie coach, replacing Reggie Lemelin. Reese won the Stanley Cup with Tampa Bay in 2004. He holds records for most assists and most points in one game by a goalie (3 for Calgary vs. San Jose on Feb. 10, 1993).
