  • Duck-Foot
rdfs:comment
  • The duck-foot is the same size as an ordinary pistol, but instead of one barrel, it has four arranged in a splayed pattern, not unlike a duck’s foot. Though wildly inaccurate, the duck-foot is useful to ship captains with mutinous crews, or anyone else ring into a crowd. When sparks hit the ashpan, the charges ignite in all four barrels, blasting four targets within range. A duck-foot fires shot, either bullets, broken glass, nails, or some other ammunition, in a 45-degree cone out the barrel of the weapon.[1a] The duck-foot, a flintlock weapon, was built by Empire engineers.[1a]
  • The duck-foot is basically an ordinary pisol, but it has four (sometimes five or seven) barrels, in a splayed pattern, like the toes of a duck's foot. While not a sharpshooter's weapon, it is fairly intimidating and is popular with ships' captains for dealing with mutinous crews. Certainly it's a useful weapon when firing on a group. Unles you, the gamesmaster, decide otherwise, only four-barreled weapons should be available to adventurers. A duck-foot requires one shot of powder per barrel per salvo.

Assuming a 45° fire arc, decide how many creatures may be hit (one per barrel). Roll to hit for each barrel, then randomly determine which potential target is hit. A duck-foot requires one shot of powder per barrel per salvo.
