- Veteran actor Morgan Woodward (born September 16 1925) appeared in the recurring role of Texas oil man Punk Anderson, a longtime buddy of Jock Ewing, in a total of 55 episodes of the CBS-TV series Dallas from seasons 4 through 11 of the series. His most notable TV series role asides from Punk on Dallas is perhaps that of Martin on the 1974 CBS-TV series Planet of the Apes television episode "The Horse Race", having been suggested for the part by his friend, director Jack Starrett. Morgan first broke into television and movies in the same year, 1956. He worked steadily until his retirement in the late 1990s, with parts in dozens of movies and several television series, and well over a hundred television guest appearances. Amongst his more notable roles, Morgan played the silent, sunglasses-wearing "man with no eyes", Boss Godfrey (the Walking Boss) in Cool Hand Luke, and has the most guest appearances on the long-running CBS-TV western series Gunsmoke, according to "Gunsmoke" by Barabas.

Woodward filmed his scenes for "Dagger of the Mind" between Wednesday 10 August 1966 and Friday 12 August 1966 at Desilu Stage 9 and his scenes for "The Omega Glory" between Friday 15 December 1967 and Friday 22 December 1967 at Stage 11, Stage 10 and Paramount's B Tank.
