  • Starting with Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, each character was given two fighting styles and one weapon to cycle through. This was carried over into Mortal Kombat: Deception, then was switched in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon to a format of one fighting style, one weapon for most of the kombatants. Different fighting styles were not used in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe or Mortal Kombat (2011). Note: Weapons often are accompanied by their own fighting style, and treated as such in MK:DA, MK:D, and MK:A, so they are included here, denoted with an asterisk (*).
  • Fighting Styles were used to brawl on Bakugan Dimensions. It contains 7 Attacks, Defenses, and Commands. It also uses strategy; for example, in Momentum, the Gate Card Momentum makes your attacks deal extra Damage, but only if you use exclusively use Attacks. Some Fighting Styles are named after Gates as in Overflow, which means it's all about the Gate Overflow. Each Attribute has 3 Easy, 2 Normal, and 1 Advanced and Expert Fighting Style. Fighting Styles were selected at your Ready Screen, under the tab: Fighting Style.
  • Fighting styles are the second natural form of attack every player begins with, and can be changed for other fighting styles in return for a set amount of Lamina and a required Strength Level. Each fighting style has their own perks that offer unique advantages in whatever battles players might find themselves in. Most of the fighting styles also come with a "Special Attack," that can cause extra damage to targeted enemies. Additionally, Magic Fist is the only fighting style that can inflict magic-based Status Effects. There is a glitch where Magic Fist acts as if you did not kill an enemy.

Your opponents will use a dizzying variety of styles, from the wild punches of a tavern brawler to the studied blocks of a master. Each style has advantages and drawbacks, and each represents a particular school of martial discipline.
