While taking Alley Cat on a date the pair were attacked by an Omega Hunter and while Alley Cat escaped Copy Cat wasn't so lucky and was captured by the Invaders and taken to the inhuman slave camps for use in their plans for time/space domination. Revealed as a hybrid (superhuman being) he would help in staging a mass-breakout at the slave camp and liberated many former slaves while dealing a blow to the Invasion Force by freeing Phenix, who proceeded to form the Extinctioners to help guard Alden from future attacks. Yet Maxwell's past would come back to haunt him and like many of other others he would face personal demons as well as a surprising new development in his hybrid abilities. Originally Copy Cat could create eight clones of himself, recently his powers have expanded to mimicking the powers of other hybrids via the creation of special clones that merge elements of those he's encountered with himself.
