  • The Irish Whip is a professional wrestling move. It is a basic move in which a wrestler maneuvers an opponent in a slingshot fashion off the ring ropes, usually towards the opposite side of the ring to execute further moves. Irish Whips are commonly succeeded by other basic moves such as a Leap Frog over an opponent or baseball sliding underneath the open legs of an opponent. An Irish Whip may also be executed from a ring corner specifically the turnbuckle post, into another turnbuckle post in the opposite corner of the ring. This is typically intended to inflict damage on opponents when striking a turnbuckle during an Irish Whip. An Irish Whip may also be halfway executed during which one wrestler may initiate the maneuver, but perhaps may reverse their opponent's direction to lead them into other wrestling moves such as a short-arm Clothesline or a DDT.
