  • John Gerard Laing (c.1850 - 7 April 1909) was barrister and educationist. The youngest son of of David Gordon Laing, a builder, of Oakley Square, London, he was educated at Clare College, Cambridge, graduating BA in 1873. He was admitted to the Middle Temple in January 1872, and was called to the bar in November 1874. He became a Judge's Associate on the South Eastern Circuit. For six years he was a member of the London School Board, elected to represent Lambeth East in 1888 and 1891. He died suddenly at Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, aged 59.
