  • Mana is the power behind all magic in Tibia. Every spell that is cast requires mana to be effective (except house spells). Mana is also required to create runes, and in some cases, mana is required to use runes (Paralyze). Mana is regained over time, when you eat any kind of food, or by using some special items, like mana potion. See the page on Regeneration and the pages for each vocation (Knight, Paladin, Druid, Sorcerer) for more information on mana regeneration.
  • A mana point is Oberin's measurement for magical ability, basically each spell requires a certain amount of mana points, if your character does not have enough mana points to cast the spell it will not work. This also applies to both mixing potions with Alchemy, and to Wizards using their Enchanting skill to extract etherite and to infuse crystals, because each potion and each Enchanting item requires a certain amount of mana to make. A character's mana point capacity increases as their Class Level increases.

  • Mana Points (or MP for short) are what the world of kung fu uses to decide if you are capable of using a skill you have learned. As you level the max total mana points available to you will increase, and this amount can also be increased with certain items and forging of equipment. Every time you use a skill the MP cost of that skill will be deducted from your current available MP pool. This pool will range from 0 to your total max MP limit. If you do not have enough current MP left to use the skill then it will not work. Confused on how this works? I'll explain with an example.

Out of MP and want to use skills? To do so you will need to recover some of your lost MP pool. The ways to do so include: using food or medicine items, yourself or someone else using a skill that replenishes MP on you, and the Za-Zen ability. Confused on how this works? I'll explain with an example. Player X starts out with 128 total max MP. X uses a skill that buffs his attack ability that costs 39 MP each use. 128-39 = 89/128 MP. Next he uses an attack skill to cause direct dmg to the enemy but takes 18 MP to use. 89-18 = 71/128 MP. The fight ends before he casts any other skills and he takes the break time to Za-Zen for 11 MP recovered before a monster attacking interrupts it. 71+11 = 82/128 MP. X decides to go wild and just spams his attack skill on monsters without pausing to recouperate his mana first. 82-18 = 64/128 MP, 64-18 = 46/128 MP, 46-18 = 28/128 MP. Now X tries to buff his defense ability. However it takes 39 MP to use that skill and he only has 28 now so the skill fails to be used. Before he can use that skill again X will have to use one of the previously mentioned ways of recoverring his mana points. --Mikuri 19:18, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
