  • What's in Oscar's Trash Can? and Other Good-Night Stories is a 1991 Sesame Street storybook containing three stories. "What's in Oscar's Trash Can?" is a story about Elmo and Ernie, who on a hot summer day are heading off for an Ice cream cone from Hooper's Store. As they pass Oscar's trash can, they notice a sign for a Grouch Reunion. While they look at the sign, Oscar pops up out of his trash can to cool off from the cold water in his swimming pool. The pair are amazed that there is a swimming pool in Oscar's trash can. He then tells them that he also has an ice-skating rink and a bowling alley.

In "Bert's Birthday", Ernie is the first to wish Bert a happy Birthday (at six o'clock in the morning). Ernie has planned a special day, including a breakfast of nonly B words to celebrate Bert's Birthday (both B words), they travel on a Bus to the Beach (more B words), and while there they dine on Bologna, Burpee Soda, three-bean salad and brownies, that Ernie has packed in a big basket. Once home, Bert is surprised with a party, where all the gifts begin with the letter B. "The End of the Day" finds Ernie sitting on the front stoop of 123 Sesame Street, observing the residents of Sesame Street as the day draws to a close. He watches tiny bugs fly around, watches Luis close up The Fix-It Shop and wishes on the first star of the night.
