  • Details: "Renee" of Scottsdale, Arizona, began dating Anthony T'Adosio, in 1990. Just two weeks later, the two were married. Renee's family lent T'Adosio $40,000 to advance his kickboxing career. T'Adosio promised to use some of the money to help build a home for him and Renee. However, that never happened; in April of 1991, T'Adosio went on a business trip and never returned. Renee and her family soon learned that everything he had told them was a lie; they learned that he real name was Guy Cummings, and that he was wanted for pulling scams on other victims like Renee. Renee agreed to work with police; she called Cummings, telling him that she had sold their car for $10,000. When Cummings came back to Arizona, he was arrested. Three weeks later, however, he jumped bail and vanished. In July of 1994, he turned up in Massachusetts, where he met "Christine" at a bar. A few weeks later, they began dating. Cummings told Christine that he was an undercover police officer, but that he wanted to leave and go on a vacation. When at the airport, he said that he forgot the tickets, so he told Christine that they should go to Atlantic City instead. Cummings told Christine that they should put everything on his credit card, and that his mother will pay her back. Eventually, Christine got suspicious and the two broke up; the trip cost Christine $5,000. A few weeks later, Cummings convinced Christine to meet up with him. He told Christine to take him back to her apartment; a friend would meet them there with the money. For the next three days, Christine was practically held prisoner in her apartment; Cummings told her that he had ties to the Mafia, and that he would have her killed if she left. Eventually, Christine's friends called the police; when officers arrived at her house, Cummings fled into the nearby woods. A few days later, Cummings was arrested. Cummings was arraigned on charges of kidnapping, assault, and battery. Cummings was released on his own recognizance and has since disappeared. Extra Notes: The case was featured as a part of the November 10, 1995 episode. Results: Captured. Cummings surrendered to authorities in Arizona in May of 1997. He served time in prison and was later released. In May of 2015, he was arrested again for grand larceny. Links: None
