  • Victor Fink, as "The Fifth Bullet" discharges, is the late, somewhat-lamented owner of an art gallery. Beckett and Castle's inquiries unearth a secret network of forgeries, commissioned by Mr. Fink, designed to dupe not his client, Bahir Harun, but rather that gentleman's less-discerning clientele. Mr. Fink had enlisted the services of his former assistant Rocco Jones in the creation of these masterly imitations, but ran into difficulties when another customer, Jeremy Prestwick, noticed the unoriginal nature of a work he had sent in for restoration. Fink might have hushed it up, but another party had even more to lose.

Mr. Fink was killed by his new 'man Friday', Darius Langley, who was, in point of fact, an ex-con by the name of George Heller, hiding behind his roommate's identity. With two convictions already, he knew that his third strike would see him put away for too many years to count. He planned to see off the troublesome Jeremy, but "War and Peace" protected him, and Mr. Fink's untimely arrival sealed his fate. Victor Fink is played by an unknown actor.
