Nipple wurde am 21.01.1990 im Zoo Ramat Gan in der Nähe von Tel Aviv geboren. Er ist der erste von sieben Söhnen der aus Tansania stammenden Elefantenkuh Norris, die ab 1973 in dem Zoo lebte und dort 2008 bei der Geburt des letzten Sohnes gestorben ist. Für seinen Vater Yossi, der selbst in Ramat Gan zur Welt kam, ist Nipple der siebte Nachwuchs. Er wuchs inmitten der Afrikanischen Elefantengruppe in Ramat Gan auf. Seine Halbschwester Yoki war nur einen Monat jünger als er.

Nipple lebte bis 1997 in Ramat Gan. Im Juni dieses Jahres wurde er in den ukrainischen Zoo Nikolajew gebracht. Dort sollte er mit zwei Afrikanischen Kühen, Gilda und Ganga, die seit 1990 bzw. 1984 in Nikolajew lebten. Nipple traf am 12.06.1997 im dortigen Zoo ein. Leider währte sein Aufenthalt nur zwei Jahre. Im Juni 1999 starb unerwartet die Kuh Gilda, die am Tag zuvor keinerlei Anzeichen von Krankheit aufwies. Ebenso erging es Nipple, der am 29.08.1999 zu Tode kam und die gleichen Symptome aufwies wie Gilda. Daraufhin wurde eine Untersuchung durchgeführt, und in den inneren Organen fanden sich Spuren von Phosphid, das früher als Rattengift Verwendung fand. Wie das Gift in den Körper der Elefanten (und Servale) kommen konnte, blieb unbekannt. Bis 2009 hat der Zoo Nikolajew auch zwei andere Elefanten durch Tod verloren, allerdings wohl aus anderen Gründen. Er plant, in Zukunft auch wieder Elefanten zu halten.
