Synopsis
  • A new costumed criminal known as the Clock King is terrorizing Star City, successfully committing crimes with clock like efficiency. Always a step ahead of Green Arrow and Speedy, the Clock King remains uncaptured. Later after a few successful heists, the Clock King tricks Green Arrow and Speedy into following him back to his base, where he traps them in a giant hour glass. However, the two ace archers manage to break free and capture the Clock King.
  • When reports that Superman has gone missing, Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson decide to go into action as Batman and Robin to find their friend before people begin making a connection between Clark Kent and Superman. Knowing that the Man of Steel had gone to South America to track down racketeer Floyd Frisby, the two head south in the Batplane. Unknown to them, days earlier Superman had arrived in South America. His x-ray vision spotted a volcano that wasn't just going to erupt, but literally explode. Trying to cork it, it still goes off, sending the Man of Steel flying into the jungle. A lone fisherman would witness this and spread the news among the village where Frisby happened to be hiding out. Believing that the blast killed Superman, Floyd would assume that he has nothing to worry about. That is until Batman and Robin arrive in the Batplane, sending the crook fleeing. Learning what happened to Superman, the Dynamic Duo head into the forest to try and find their missing friend. They are found by a tribe an Indians who take them before their leader, who to their surprise is Superman. However, Batman soon realizes that the Man of Steel has amnesia, and convinces the "king" of this land to allow them to stay. Superman allows this and they are shown around the temple and given food. They find that these people have a legend that their future kind would one day come to their land and rebuild their great cities, when Superman proved capable of doing just that they crowned him king. However, they are called back before Superman and they are shocked to find Frisby in the Man of Steel's presence telling the "king" that Batman and Robin are evil. Batman and Robin make a break for it and hide out in one of the temples while Floyd convinces the Indians to give him gold. Batman and Robin try to make a break for it by scaring the locals by dressing up as their god Xotcl and try to convince the locals that Floyd is evil. When this doesn't work, Batman punches him out and he and Robin run back deep into the temple with Superman chasing them from behind. When the Man of Steel catches up to them, he is surprised to see that they have painted a picture of Clark Kent changing into Superman. This causes Superman's memory to return and he helps Batman and Robin capture Frisby. Afterward, Superman explains to the people that he must go, and they give him their blessing as they tell him that their legends say that their king would soon leave them after he finished restoring their kingdom to it's former splendor.
