Sessoms' next race waited until 1969, when he competed at Talladega. Starting 16th in the boycott field, Seassoms had another decent race and wound up 17th.

Sessoms' next race waited until 1969, when he competed at Talladega. Starting 16th in the boycott field, Seassoms had another decent race and wound up 17th. Sessoms' final two races came in 1971, and this time Sessoms found some solid success. Starting 14th at Macon, Sessoms again just kept out of trouble and this time was rewarded with a 9th place finish. He was even better at North Wilkesboro, finishing in 8th.
