  • Gazan (牙斬, "Fang Slash") is Ichigo's down special move in Super Smash Flash 2. It replaced the Stunning Slash in v0.2a of the SSF2 Demo. If performed on the ground, Ichigo does a Flash Step upward and brings his Zanpakutō down on the opponent. As of v0.9b, when Ichigo is next to his opponent and performs the grounded Gazan, the opponent will become stunned and take the full force of the attack. If the special button is held while performing the grounded version, the move will be delayed, Ichigo will jump higher, and he can move while using the grounded version. If performed in midair, Ichigo will do the same motion minus the Flash Step. Both attacks send the opponent down as a meteor smash and deal more damage depending on how high he fell. However, the move is dangerous to use off-stage because Ichigo can not stop the move's animation (although the move does not cause helplessness), causing him to plummet to his death. Although, from v0.8a onwards, he has slight control of the direction he plummets in, like Wario's down aerial. When used on ground, the attack deals 11% to the opponent while in air it varies depending on high Ichigo has been in the air. There is a glancing weakness in using this attack. When on the ground, Ichigo is not invincible while doing his flash step and can be attacked from the back, or even from the ground. When the attack itself is executed, he is also vulnerable from the back, or from the ground if an opponent has a big enough hitbox to hit Ichigo before his blade touches them (such as Goku or Donkey Kong's up smash, which has more vertical range than most up smashes). Very weak control of the direction of the attack, plus some ending lag after he hits the ground, makes missing an opponent very consequential. However, if he does hit the opponent then he will be able to follow up with another attack almost instantly.
