  • The Last Moments of Peace
rdfs:comment
  • It was three weeks since that time. All had fallen silent with the world, as if Soul Society was basked within eternal peace. However, all was not right. There remained still some goals that were meant to be achieved. So many goals, so little time. It was due time that this person focused on making such a passive period, which was considered a fantasy, a reality. The dawn lifted from the Soul Society, as a new day began.

Sitting in the dining room, gesturing to Gai over the summit of her "Hobo Scramble," Nika Kazoraem presented a powerful pro-waffle position. Its core assertion was that they should have hot waffles, smothered in chocolate ice cream, available for free at outside of Central 46's headquarters. Gai was trying to talk her out of it for about a week now, saying that they had much more important matters to attend to—Nika came to the conclusion that this was because he had no vision, and the devil woman did: she saw waffles leaping out of toasters and into smiling mouths. She didn't see what the problem was. She tried to break down the essential position for him. "You're arguing for a universe with fewer waffles in it," She snapped. "I'm prepared to call that cowardice~" Gai wasn't constructed psychologically to argue for surreal snack festivals, so the focus was shifted to the zanier Nika. Once this took place, she took over the entire process, which lead to the construction of an extra level on Mitsuru's apartment. Should events deviate significantly from the fantasy - and when has that ever happened – they would be sure to note the alterations. "Ohohoho~ But Gaillardia Nagareboshi, what about—" Nika Kazoraem was cut off as Gai asserted himself, stating, "No, no, and for the last time, no. Mortality rates are far more important than waffles, don't you understand?" Without any further hassle, Nika stood up as if significantly irked, stating, "You wouldn't disagree if that whore asked you such questions~!" Gai applied his palm to his forehead in exasperation, retorting, "…Tch. If Kurenai said something like that, I'd still get on her case. I've never said this before—you need to step up your game on these matters, Nika." With that, Nika Kazoraem crossed her arms and left in a huff, storming out in a hurry as if she was irked significantly by Gaillardia Nagareboshi's words. That next morning, the final stages of training had been initiated—all for the sole purpose of mastering the Renkyotō style. "Left! Right! Left! Right!" As if consecutively, a serial of open knife-hand blows landed upon Gai Nagareboshi's lithe frame, dealt by none other than the previous Soul King, Kazuma Nagareboshi. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!" Being significantly harmed, the Mototsu-Seishin hybrid was sent careening back, only to catch himself by thrusting his arm into the ground and using it as a grip. Sighing, Kazuma applied his palm to his forehead in exasperation, stating, "…You idiot. When I shout, 'Left', you don't move to your left—I'm attacking your left side. Same goes for 'Right', obviously. Dammit, you're too slow…" Gai spat, "Then stop hitting me so fast!" In an instant, Kazuma dropped his stance, growling, "…I realize now, that this training is actually doing very little for you. Well, it was, but then it lost its effectiveness. Anyways…" Resuming his original stance, the previous Soul King declared, "…This is your final lesson. In order to master the Renkyotō style, the pupil must best the master in combat. So, now, it's you versus me, one on one. Do you understand? I won't be holding back at all." …Oh, fuck. There was no way, no way in bloody hell that Gaillardia Nagareboshi could defeat Kazuma Nagareboshi in combat, especially since he could not access any power-ups and Kazuma was now at 70% of his strength. Scratching his head, Kazuma continued, "…Geez. Well, this is a pain in the arse." He had to give in. However, there was another huge problem. How? Kazuma was complaining about how in this situation, he was about to fight Gai. But now, Gai was thinking he should be the one saying that. The difference in power was too great. Such a trivial matter, this fighter with insignificant power, why such must a terrifying person be called in to settle this? The extent of this fussiness was like mobilizing an air strike and destroying a country to stop children from fighting with each other. Gai's thoughts were hazy. It wasn't enough to even use 'a normal person versus a judo wrestler' to describe the difference in power. If there was a need to drive the point home, it was like 'a tug-of-war between a human and a jet'. It wasn't a question of who would win and who would lose. The jet could not do anything and the human couldn't move it by even half a millimeter. Still…He was sure, that he wouldn't lose. Well, to be truthful, he was sure he'd lose in a heartbeat, but in that case, he would continue to stand again and again until he defeated Kazuma, without any exceptions. Sighing, Gaillardia Nagareboshi stated confidently, "It doesn't matter if you're a god or a mere spiritual being. I'll knock your arse down and use the power which I gained from your teachings to protect those who are dear to me." As if by instinct, the Mototsu-Seishin hybrid instantly raised his left arm, as light amassed and converged upon his palm, before said light broke down into spiritual particles which dispersed for the briefest of moments, leaving Gai grasping naught but a cluster of spiritual atoms. As if instinctually, the spiritual energy converged upon his left arm once again, rejoining with the mass of atoms. In an instant, that spiritual energy coated his entire hand, before trailing up his arm in a spiraling pattern. Gai felt an unusual feeling welling up inside of him, as his soul reacted with his Zanpakutō, unleashing a peculiar power unlike any other seen before. This spiritual energy solidified and synchronized with this unusual power, as his arm underwent a mutation. Gone was the uncanny presence of such a deformity, which gave birth to a sleek, thin jet-black arm which was clad in armour and possessed razor-sharp claws. At his scapula-joint, it possessed a cyan, supernatural glow which fashioned itself into a large phoenix-like flaming wing. Upon the back of his hand, there was the kanji for "light" (光). It seemed that this was the true form of Gaikaōtori. Pointing at Kazuma, Gai Nagareboshi declared, "Now…Yatte yaruze, Gaikaōtori!"
