In their first few hours of combat nearly half his platoon was killed or wounded. As night fell and UNSC reinforcements arrived, the battle ground to a stalemate and the remaining platoon was assigned a recon mission to probe enemy lines. They discovered a Covenant teleportation Spire being used to ferry troops in secret for the next days offensive. They were discovered themselves but before they were slaughtered, they were rescued by a group of Spartan-like Super-soldiers. They and their new found comrades destroyed the Spire and retreated to friendly lines. they continued to fight the Covenant on planet until the UNSC fleet was defeated a day and a half later. After leaving the planet, Bander and his remaining unit were sent to Reach to undergo Force Recon training. He and his Platoon finished training not long before the Fall of Reach. They again fought with Legionaries on Reach at New Alexandria, Quezon, and IRON Base. After the planet fell, he was transferred to Earth, where he participated in the Battle of Berlin and The African Campaign. Post-War he and his unit fought in the Insurrectionist revolt on Araza in early to mid 2553. After this he was moved to the UNSC Infinity where he combated Insurrectionists and Covenant Remnants until the Reclamation conflict began.
