  • Don Constantine is an expensively dressed, respectable looking old man, whose ill health requires him to use a cane. But he is actually a powerful Mafia don, controlling gang interests in Toronto. He took over the Toronto Mafia when he was a young man. Now, he would like to retire. But his sons and grandsons are all dead; and his only great-grandchild, David, wants nothing to do with the family business. When Nick decides to bring the old don to justice and help his grandson escape, Don Constantine turns to LaCroix, who owes him a favour. LaCroix brings him across, so that he can continue to control the Mob.
  • He blamed John for the death of Mary and John's twin. The truth is that Thomas attempted to abort both of his children which is what killed Mary and John's twin, but John survived. John and his father never got along, which is what led to John running away. Thomas was killed by the Family Man, but when John was a child he had cursed his father to a slow death, which resulted in his father remaining in the world as a ghost. When John realized this was happening he broke the spell. This sent Thomas to hell (though this was unintentional on John's part).[citation needed]
