abstract
  • Benjamin Greaves was a thoracic surgeon and the founder of Acumen Science Laboratories. He would earn his MD from Stanford Medical School on Earth, entering a thoracic surgery residence at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, and later, a research fellowship in cancer biology at Dana Farber Cancer Center at Boston, Earth. He would later privately practice thoracic surgery, specializing in pulmonary cancer, and would also hold an independent academic research laboratory in lung cancer biology. However, a global financial crisis, combined with increased prophylactic screening and treatment for lung cancer, would jeopardize his business. With former colleagues and faculty mentors at Stanford Medical School, he was inspired to found the ambitious concept of Acumen Science Laboratories in 2342 at London, which under his unexpected visionary leadership, would eventually swell into a multiplanetary supercorporation that would hold uncontested monopolies over many major markets.
