The squadron's current status is undetermined. Air Force Lineage and History Documents do not support the unit was assigned to the 4239th Strategic Wing between 1959 and 1963. Air Force Lineage records requested from Maxwell AFB also show the unit was Consolidated with the 408th Bombardment Squadron (Medium) a former B-47 Squadron assigned to the 22d Bombardment Wing at March AFB, CA, the 408th was active between 1959 and 1962.
