Biography
  • Max Berrier is a former NASCAR driver from Wallburg, NC. He competed seven Sprint Cup Series events in his career and is the father of Ed Berrier and crew chief Todd Berrier. Berrier debuted in 1955, when Berrier debuted at Charlotte. Starting 18th in the field, Berrier would also finish 18th after early mechanical woes. He was able to top that in one other race during the year, finishing a career-best 14th at Montgomery. Berrier returned to action in 1957, competing in two late races in the year. He did not perform well in either, crashing to 24th at North Wilkesboro and crashing to 31st at Greensboro. Another two-race schedule was in store for Berrier in 1959, competing in some local North Carolina events. Despite not finishing either event, Berrier recorded respectable finishes of 18th at Bowman-Gray and 17th at Columbia. Berrier's final race came in 1972, racing at North Wilkesboro for Donlavey Racing. Berrier qualified a career-best 7th for the event and ran well, but late engine failure left him 18th. After retiring from competition, Berrier fielded cars for his son, Ed Berrier in the Busch Series for a number of years. External Links *Stats
