  • Sourdough Bread Melt 1 lb. round loaf sourdough bread 1 lb. pkg. sliced Monterey Jack cheese 1/2 cup butter, melted 1/2 cup chopped green onions, 1/2 cup chopped green chilies (optional) Cut the loaf crosswise without cutting through the bottom crust. Insert cheese slices between cuts. Combine butter, onions and chilies, if using; sprinkle over loaf. Wrap in foil. Place on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes at 350.
