| abstract | - Desser Koordian was a Jedi Knight of the Old Republic. Originally born on Malastare to a pair of mineral surveyors, he trained with the Galactic Republic Military before being admitted to the Jedi Order at a late age when his latent Force-sensitivity was discovered. He trained under the venerable Zabrak Master Valas Kalar to become a Jedi Guardian. He would openly participate in the Great Galactic War before attaining Knighthood. During the war, he would reconsider his role as a guardian which subsequently led to his self-exile from the order. During his exile, he traveled war-torn galaxy while simultaneously continuing his studies, leading to his mastery of Form I. He eventually returned from the fringes of Known Space as a Jedi Sentinel. After the war, like many other Jedi Knights of his time period, Desser began to grow frustrated with the complacency of the Jedi Council in the face of Sith dominance of the galaxy. His frustration would culminate in him leaving the Jedi Order once again, this time in a more permanent fashion.
