  • John Pollard (c.1816 - 23 October 1872) was a civil servant who worked in local government. in 1836 he was appointed assistant clerk to the Westminster Commission of Sewers. Following that body's amalgamation into the Metropolitan Commission of Sewers in 1848 he retained his post, subsequently passing into the employment of the successor Metropolitan Board of Works in 1856 as principal assistant clerk. He was promoted to the post of clerk to the board in 1859. He died suddenly at his home in Finchley in October 1872 aged 56.
