| abstract | - Originally a term coined to Sasuke Uchiha's shinobi rank, as more promising and talented shinobi grew up, they inherited the same title while working under the Union. While not necessarily publicly known as a Shugokage, the Shugokage constantly work towards finding threats and working towards stopping them. In other words, they are peacekeepers. A kind of Guardian, they protect villages from the inside instead of the outside. However they keep in contact with other shinobi to maintain a network of protection from all angles, inside and out. Shugokage are trained spies and elite shinobi, capable of taking on the average with ease. Patrolling constantly, they have become known as a Police Force for the world against its threats, internal and external. Few shinobi from a village can attain this rank, and its usually held by one or two of them. They work for their village and the Union at large and perhaps can hold other jobs as well while working to safeguard the future of the world. Many Shugokage are Head Ninjas, ANBU, elite jōnin, bodyguards, etc. Shugokage work hand in hand with the Kage of the world as well as world Daimyō. They usually work hand in hand with bodyguards as well.
