He was then posted to the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler, as a tank commander in the 2nd Company, SS Panzer Regiment 1 LSSAH. In a short time he had 8 anti-tank guns killed. SS Oberscharführer Reimling was killed in action in March 1943 during fighting in the Third Battle of Kharkov.
