In the end the Witcher managed to slay the dragon but in doing so was seriously injured. Lying in agony he was robbed of his other diagrams by locals. He was eventually buried in the Dragonslayer Cave in Velen. There was a painting of him as the Dragonslayer in Kaer Morhen.
