Three months after Sam's death, aged 26, Gertie gave birth to twins Molly and Dolly. Three months later, she buried Dolly. Determined that TB had claimed its last victim, Gertie and the kids burnt all the furniture in the house and scrubbed the bare rooms with carbolic acid. No.3 became a happier household. Gertie died from pneumonia in 1926. Gertie first appeared in Daran Little and Bill Hill's "Weatherfield Life", published in 1992.
