He was captured by a squad of marines and he was forced to flee with UNSC Troopers who managed to identify him as a deserter. He was placed in custody and was held for trial. After the end of the battle for Earth he was dishonorably discharged after a six month imprisonment. After another few years of traveling he came close to dying from dehydration but was saved by a insurrectionist group. After he was rescued he felt as if he owed them a dept and since he always held a hate for the UNSC joined them and became a tank commander for a captured UNSC Tank.
