  • Elzona Maxey (née Selby; 30 November 1875 - 25 April 1988) was a verified American supercentenarian. She was born in Adair, Kentucky as the daughter of Simon and Elizabeth McKinley Selby. She moved to Texas in the beginning of the 20th century and married John Maxey in Grayson, Texas on 6 August 1908. The couple had two children, Margaret and Benton. Following the death of their son Benton the family moved to Atoka, Oklahoma, where Mrs. Maxey lived for the rest of her life.

She was believed to have been the World's Oldest Person since the death of Orpha Nusbaum, but the verification of Jeanne Calment and Lydie Vellard meant that both Nusbaum and Maxey lost their titles.
